Picnic Seeking Volunteers!

Picnic is looking for volunteers for our UBCO Community Market and Community Meal programs! We’re seeking dedicated individuals to join us in making a positive impact on our campus.

Become a part of the UBCO Farmers Market and Community Meal program Tuesdays from either 8:45 AM to 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Help make a difference in your UBCO community!

Please contact ubcofarmers.market@ubc.ca if you are interested.

Community Markets:

Located in EME or on University Way (weather dependent), our Community Market connects the University with the greater community. By showcasing the best products from local farms and artisans, our market is a great shopping experience and strengthens the ties between the university and the surrounding neighbourhoods. The Community Market also provide an opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to showcase a project, initiative, club, and more to the campus community.

Community Meals:

Our community meal program aims to build community, share culture, and provide community members with a free, nourishing meal. A large batch of primarily plant-based meals will be prepared and served by student staff and volunteers in Picnic. Meals are free and open to all members of the UBCO community. Meals are served every other Tuesday starting at noon and ending by 1:30pm, or when the food runs out – whichever comes first! Participants are required to bring their own clean container to take their food with them, in an effort to reduce waste.
