Made in Canada Well being Survey

NEW Made in Canada Campus Wellbeing Survey

Apr 27, 2020 | Health News, Mental Wellbeing

UBC Okanagan students were invited to complete the new Canadian Campus Wellbeing Survey (CCWS) survey in the 2019 fall semester. Our Campus Health team contributed to the development of the CCWS and its roll out last fall. The results of the CCWS will help us identify priorities for promoting student wellbeing and evaluating initiatives.

About the CCWS

Over two million young adults attend postsecondary institutions in Canada. This can be a time of great excitement, independence and growth – but students also face substantial increases in health-risk behaviours, including poor mental health, decreased physical activity, increased substance use, poor nutrition and stress.

To develop or evaluate interventions at the postsecondary level, a mechanism is first required to assess the health and well-being of students. This can be accomplished with the new Canadian health and well-being measurement system, known as the Canadian Campus Wellbeing Survey
